The Government is consulting on managing pavement parking. It is likely that the Department for Transport (DfT) will legislate against Footway Parking in some form (either by decriminalising Obstructive Footway Parking or banning it entirely). The consultation is seeking views on the Traffic Regulation Order making process, the introduction of a new civil contravention of unnecessary obstruction of the pavement and the introduction of an overall pavement parking ban.

The closing date for the consultation is 22nd November 2020 and details can be found at the following link: – https://www.gov.uk/government/consultations/managing-pavement-parking
