The Government is consulting on managing pavement parking. It is likely that the Department for Transport (DfT) will legislate against Footway Parking in some form (either by decriminalising Obstructive Footway Parking or banning it entirely). The consultation is seeking views on the Traffic Regulation Order making process, the introduction of a new civil contravention of unnecessary obstruction of the pavement and the introduction of an overall pavement parking ban.
